Portatīvā ierīce izmanto 4 punktu rezistences metodi, kas ir optimāli piemērota pārklājuma biezuma mērīšanai plāniem slāņiem, piemēram, uz daudzslāņu platēm. Šeit vairāki vara slāņi tiek atdalīti ar nevadošu materiālu, piemēram, epoksīdu. SR-SCOPE priekšrocības: citi plates slāņi neietekmē mērījumu, tāpēc augšējā slāņa biezumu var noteikt precīzi.
